What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Coach team members on Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized work.
  • Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectives.
  • Monitor ANDON (a system to notify production issues) occurrences and serve as the initial responder for secondary support.
  • Verify the production line's safe and smooth operation, and its output of quality parts, through Process Confirmation.
  • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) initiatives and coach problem resolution at the lowest possible level.
  • Meet targets for First Time Through (FTT), inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expenses.
  • Build the capability of both Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Create a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks.
  • Ensure effective communication and recognition within the team.
  • Perform basic administration of supervisory duties and documentation.

You'll have...

Education: 

  • College Diploma, High School Diploma or Equivalent (CAEC).

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in Production lines. 
  • Experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement).
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Availability to work in rotating shifts (morning/afternoon/evening) as required.

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).

 

Experience:

  • Experience in body shop, paint, powertrain, subassembly, or machining preferred.
  • Safety and Quality experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook).
  • Prior experience managing a unionized workforce.

     

  • Adept problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Effective organizational and administrative capabilities.
  • Note: This is a supplemental role (non permanent) but full-time hours are offered.

 

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our team. 

The hourly salary range for this position is $35.75/hour to $51.21/hour.
