Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Commercial Director (Power Conversions Asia), the Bid Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading the development of high-quality proposal submissions for GE Vernova’s Power Conversion and Storage portfolio in the region.You will own all aspects of the full opportunity lifecycle, from proposal development and commercial risk management and mitigation to customer negotiations, and final contract handover. As a key partner to the sales organisation, you will provide critical oversight and operational rigor, ensuring we secure profitable, executable business while maintaining high visibility with senior leadership across the global organisation.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end proposal preparation, ensuring full alignment with commercial policies and securing all necessary approvals.
- Partner with all functions across global regions and businesses to develop and execute high quality proposals to GE Vernova clients and other business unit
- Work with the sales team to develop winning strategies.
- Deliver high-quality proposal submissions that accurately reflect the agreed-upon strategy and meet customer requirements.
- Develop and obtain approval for compliant contractual structures that effectively support the proposal.
- Drive early engagement both internally and alongside the sales team, with the client.
- Review customer terms and conditions, prepare deviation lists according to GE Vernova standards, and manage the approval process.
- Lead commercial negotiations with customers, supported by legal counsel and leadership to close deals as required.
- Ensure seamless hand-over from tender phase to execution on award, involving the project management organisation prior to handover as necessary.
- Own the order booking process, ensuring complete accuracy and adherence to internal compliance standards.
- Drive implementation of proposal standards and new commercial models to maximize orders volume and market reach.
- Contribute to quality initiatives to drive process rigor, simplification and improved customer outcomes through sales and bidding phases.
- Reinforce application of commercial processes, whilst adopting lean principles to challenging and develop those processes as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform future strategy.
- Support the sourcing team throughout the tender and execution phases by preparing pass-through terms and conditions for subcontracts and supplier purchase orders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in Sales or Commercial Operations within a complex industrial or technical environment.
- Significant experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts with external customers.
- Ability to effectively manage and influence multiple stakeholders across a complex, global matrix organisation.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in additional APAC regional languages is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and handle multiple high-stakes opportunities simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into clear, compelling commercial proposals.
As GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.
