Job Description:
Location: Paris, France or London, UK.
Function: Strategic Business Excellence
Reporting to: Head of Events, Marketing & Launch Excellence
Travel: 20–40%
As part of the Global Events Excellence team, the Events Excellence Project Manager plays a critical role in delivering world‑class global events. You will lead and orchestrate the end‑to‑end execution of congresses and events, working closely with global and local cross‑functional teams to translate strategic intent into flawless delivery.
This role combines strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence, ensuring all events are delivered on time, on budget, and in full compliance with business ethics, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Congress & Events Planning and Delivery
Act as the main point of contact for assigned congresses and events, streamlining communication across stakeholders
Lead global cross‑functional planning teams and align with Asset Teams, Medical Excellence, Affiliates, and external partners
Manage logistics, ancillary meetings, and affiliate participation across regions
Oversee and challenge external agencies (logistics, booth, and other vendors) to ensure high‑quality delivery
Monitor and manage event execution before, during, and after each event
Continuously seek opportunities to improve execution and elevate event excellence standards
Budget Management & Contracts
Track and manage event budgets, including purchase orders, invoices, and payments
Create and manage service contracts in close collaboration with Legal, Purchasing, Ethics & Compliance teams
Ensure all activities adhere to company policies, ethics, and compliance standards, escalating risks when identified
Manage associated administrative duties related to events delivery
Education & Experience
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Extensive hands-on experience with direct accountability for planning and delivering pharmaceutical or biotechnology events, congresses, or programs
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations (e.g. Sunshine Act, HIPAA)
Previous people or project team management experience is a plus
Skills & Competencies
Strong experience in global event planning within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to diverse audiences
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision
Proven ability to engage, influence, and challenge stakeholders at all levels
High energy, curiosity, reliability, and a strong team spirit
Languages
Fluent English (mandatory)
French is a strong advantage
