Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planning Manager (Construction) to join our PMCM team. In this role, you will manage program-wide project controls and scheduling activities, and maintain the Program Master Schedule. You will develop the capability and supervise the performance of the team across all program planning and scheduling development, analysis, reporting, and progress evaluation.
The position interfaces with the Client, Project Director, Contracts Managers, Design and Engineering team, Construction Directors, Consultants, and has oversight of all construction scheduling activities. Reports to the Project Director.
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements strategic planning initiatives to support the company’s objectives.
Provides guidance and specialized assistance to the project team to resolve difficult and complex planning problems.
Leads and manages the planning team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
Interfaces with clients and PMCM consultants, attends regular meetings, and provides statistical reports.
Coordinates with various departments to ensure alignment of planning activities with overall business goals.
Analyzes market trends, industry developments, and internal data to inform planning decisions.
Prepares and presents detailed reports on planning activities, progress, and outcomes to senior management.
Identifies and mitigates risks associated with planning processes.
Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Continuously improves planning processes and methodologies.
Assesses the impact of design and construction changes and schedule slippages.
Supports and performs integration of scope, cost, and schedule within the WBS to ensure mapping is accurate on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
15+ years of work experience in project control and scheduling of engineering and construction activities, including supervisory/managerial experience
Extensive experience with projects at the design stage
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
Knowledgeable of current Primavera Enterprise Systems scheduling technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project
Familiar with AI scheduling technology
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Experience with PMCM services
Master’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
