Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s WTA PE Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Seibi Lead Technician.
This role's primary responsibility is supporting new model Machine Seibi project activities at various U.S., Canada, and Mexico NAMCs, and Vendors, including the inspection and confirmation of new or modified equipment and preparing that equipment for manufacturing production.
Reporting to the R1 Team Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Production Engineering Department's objective to deploy or modify welding equipment to facilitate the new model launch and support manufacturing production changes while meeting all Safety, Quality targets, Productivity, and Cost. This person will foster an environment of good communications, problem-solving, kaizen, team safety, as well as standardized work adherence.
What you’ll be doing
Offline and/or online robot programming.
Confirm that new model equipment meets set standards and performs as intended.
Prepare and confirm new Body equipment at the vendors.
Support Body Machine Seibi activity at NAMCs from installation to start of production, Covering production shifts day and nights.
Participate in effective written and verbal communication with Machine Seibi Team Members, Project Leaders, Management, and outside groups regarding issues that require resolution.
Promote teamwork and conduct OJT with ‘hands-on’ tasks.
Lead Daily job activities and weekend work.
Working all shifts for weekends and Shutdowns and all shifts needed to cover SOP (Start of production) of new or existing equipment until the NAMC’s are satisfied with production numbers.
Confirm daily activities to other TM’s, CW’s, working on jobs being led by you.
Report up to Seibi and Engineering Leadership daily activities and project status.
Project tracking or area tracking for BPE machine seibi
Support Machine Seibi projects and engage in travel (or dispatch) to the U.S., Canada, and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel, including Japan, Canada, and Mexico. Commonly work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
This position will support projects within region 1/Vendor (TMMK, TMMS, and MTMUS) and business travel to other Manufacturing Facilities in North America.
What you bring
Associate technical degree (or higher) or equivalent work experience
1+ years of experience within Toyota Body PE Seibi or body maintenance
Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Ability to travel up to 75% at times (including international travel)
Added bonus if you have
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an Industrial Maintenance-related field.
