Senior Project Manager, Value Improvement and Transformation - Value Improvement Office - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)
The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and operational support for a wide range of project management and transformation initiatives. Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, change control, stakeholder engagement and change management, risk identification and mitigation, research, project documentation aligned with OPT PM methodology, executive reporting, and service delivery.
Essential Duties:
- Project Management: Leads the planning, execution, monitoring, and operational transition of projects to meet defined objectives.
- Organizes and prioritizes multiple tasks to deliver results on time, on budget, and within scope.
- Manages escalations and ensures decisions are communicated effectively to project teams.
- Maintains project documentation (stakeholder register, communication plan, RAID log, change control, benefits tracking, schedules, and budgets).
- Facilitates project meetings, prepares agendas and presentations, and documents decisions and action items.
- Uses project management tools effectively for tracking and reporting (MS Project, SmartSheet, Excel, etc.).
- Business Analysis: Analyzes information to define problems, develop hypotheses, and recommend logical solutions.
- Provides timely and accurate reporting, research, and recommendations.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Builds strong relationships with staff, faculty, physicians, and stakeholders.
- Communicates complex topics clearly in both formal and informal settings.
- Models collaborative and helpful team behavior.
- Leads enterprise-level clinical transformation initiatives involving multi-unit inpatient reconfiguration (e.g., bed realignment across service lines), ensuring alignment across physicians, nursing, operations, and executive leadership.
- Serves as the primary integrator across complex stakeholder groups, including physician leaders, nursing leadership, case management, support services and operations—driving consensus in ambiguous and politically sensitive environments.
- Drives operational readiness across multiple domains, including staffing models, competency validation, equipment procurement and clinical capability alignment.
- Designs and executes change management strategies for large-scale operational transitions, including stakeholder mapping, resistance management, and communication across impacted departments.
- Translates strategic objectives into actionable implementation plans, ensuring alignment between executive vision and front-line execution. Anticipates and mitigates cross-functional risks and downstream impacts (e.g., patient flow disruptions, staffing gaps, unit licensing), using advanced RAID management and scenario planning within the project governance structure.

Required Qualifications:
- Req High School or equivalent
- Req Bachelor’s Degree In a related field.
- Strong analytical ability to evaluate administrative policies, practices, and cost-benefit studies.
- Expertise in technical project management including stakeholder registers, project communication plans, RAID logs, change control logs, and detailed project schedules and budgets.
- Advanced proficiency in project management tools (MS Project or Smartsheet) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Proven ability to deliver executive-level reporting, manage stakeholders proactively, and lead diverse cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal and diplomatic communication skills with physicians, clinicians, leadership, and community partners.
- Experience delivering projects in active hospital environments and understanding of clinical operations and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, Joint Commission, HCAI, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
- Pref. Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Pref. Lean Six Sigma Green belt or above
