Location: Hybrid (3 days per week in our NYC, Denver or Charlotte offices)

Position Summary

The Senior Implementation Project Manager leads the end-to-end delivery of complex client implementations across integrated pharmacy and medical benefit solutions. This role supports implementations for self-funded employers, municipalities, government entities, and third-party administrators with software licensing arrangements, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience that positions clients for long-term success.

The position is responsible for driving implementation excellence through strong cross-functional coordination, disciplined project execution, and consistent application of best practices across lines of business. The Senior Implementation Project Manager aligns internal teams and client stakeholders, manages risks and dependencies, and ensures implementations are delivered accurately, efficiently, and at scale while maintaining high standards of service and communication.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of new clients across pharmacy and medical benefits, ensuring accurate, timely, and seamless onboarding
  • Develop and execute strategic implementation plans for PBM, medical, and integrated benefit clients, including complex, multi-product and enterprise accounts
  • Define project scope, requirements, objectives, and success criteria in partnership with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary client lead throughout implementation, managing communications, setting expectations, and delivering executive-level presentations
  • Act as the primary escalation point for implementation-related issues, driving rapid resolution and cross-functional alignment
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and execution challenges, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery
  • Ensure all implementation activities are completed on time and in compliance with regulatory requirements, including exchange, Medicare, Medicaid, and other government programs
  • Interpret self-funded plan SPDs and extracting key information necessary to configure claim adjudication platforms
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to understand client needs, benefit structures, and contractual obligations to ensure alignment during implementation
  • Facilitate smooth Sales-to-Implementation hand-offs as it relates to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support business development efforts, including RFP responses, finalist meetings, and client presentations, with emphasis on integrated pharmacy and medical solutions
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts and third parties to drive seamless implementation and operational readiness
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners to drive satisfaction and long-term retention
  • Track progress against milestones, maintain detailed documentation, and ensure transparency in reporting and status updates
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance implementation processes, tools, and best practices
  • Demonstrate strong project management discipline, including prioritization, organization, and execution to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience
  • Provide support for broader business initiatives and special projects, as needed
  • Mentor and support the development of team members, providing training, guidance, and knowledge sharing to strengthen team capabilities and consistency in delivery
  • Certain times of year may require meeting participation, travel, service support or other requirements outside of standard business hours, including weekends
  • Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in pharmacy benefit management (PBM), regional or national health plan, and/or third-party administrator (TPA) implementation setting
  • Deep understanding of medical plan administration as it relates to networks, tiering, and cost-share differentiation
  • Prior knowledge of medical and pharmacy plan types such as PPO, POS, EPO, HDHP, Indemnity, MEC, and spending accounts (HSA/HRA)
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, driving high performance, meeting deadlines, and executing deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, long-term projects with diverse stakeholders
  • Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to shift priorities easily
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with virtual teams
  • Ability to travel 5–10%
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Prior knowledge/use of Salesforce preferred
New York, NY Salary Range
$131,600—$164,500 USD
Denver, CO Salary Range
$120,400—$150,500 USD
Charlotte, NC Salary Range
$109,600—$137,000 USD
