Creative Project Manager

Betterment · Betterment HQ - New York City

About Betterment

Betterment is a leading, technology-driven financial services company that offers investing, savings and retirement solutions for retail investors and investment advisors as well as financial wellness solutions, including a 401(k) for small and medium-sized businesses. Our team is passionate about our mission, to empower people to build wealth with confidence and ease.  We’re headquartered in NYC and offer hybrid NY-based positions (four days/ week in-office, with no required office days during the summer and winter holidays).

About the Role

As a Creative Project Manager, you’ll manage end-to-end creative production for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring work is delivered on time, meets a high bar for quality, and advances our business goals. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Creative Operations, you’re the bridge between Brand Creative and our cross-functional partners, including editorial, product marketing, CRM, and social. As AI accelerates our marketing and creative capabilities, you’ll orchestrate a growing volume of deliverables for increasingly segmented campaigns across the customer lifecycle, from onboarding through retention.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing deadlines, budgets, and shifting priorities with confidence and autonomy. Process-minded by nature, you seek out opportunities to streamline workflows, and your organizational, communication, and collaboration skills are valued by stakeholders and creative partners alike. You’re passionate about upholding brand standards and feel at home in a creative setting, even if you don’t consider yourself a “creative” person.

This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.

  • New York City: $94,500 - $110,000

This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.

A Day in the Life:

  • Prioritize and resource creative projects in coordination with Brand Operations teammates
  • Review incoming creative briefs and lead project kick-offs, clearly defining goals, scope, and expectations from the start
  • Develop and manage production schedules in Jira, collaborating with creative, marketing, legal, and compliance to facilitate seamless and timely execution of project deliverables
  • Support vendor management, including procurement, onboarding, project assignments, and scheduling
  • Own quality control through delivery, ensuring all final deliverables meet the required file specifications and are properly documented and stored
  • Provide project management support for the video production team
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements — we value the knowledge you bring!

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of project management experience within an in-house creative/marketing team or agency with a degree in marketing, PR, finance, or a related field
  • Background in financial services or other regulated industries a plus
  • Proven ability to understand and translate the needs of marketing into actionable creative project plans
  • Hands-on experience across a variety of tech tools that keep creative work moving efficiently, including project management platforms (e.g. Jira), design software (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite), and AI tools (e.g. Claude, Glean)
  • Familiarity with technical creative specs across media channels
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
