MDR Operations Specialist
Overview
Vectra is seeking an MDR Operations Specialist to help build and scale the operational foundation of our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) services.
This role is responsible for executing, improving, and standardizing the operational workflows that enable successful customer onboarding, service readiness, platform health, and lifecycle management. Working closely with Security Specialists, MDR Analysts, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Operations teams, the MDR Operations Specialist ensures that repeatable operational processes are executed consistently while identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
This is an operations-focused role designed to improve service scalability, operational quality, and efficiency across the MDR organization.
What You'll Do
Operational Excellence
Execute and own repeatable operational workflows supporting MDR/MXDR service delivery.
Validate platform health, customer readiness, and operational state.
Review and triage operational health alerts.
Troubleshoot authentication, connectivity, deployment, and platform readiness issues.
Coordinate operational activities across Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Sales, and MDR teams.
Execute operational remediation using established playbooks and documented workflows.
Customer Onboarding & Service Readiness
Own operational onboarding workflows from readiness validation through production enablement.
Validate customer configuration requirements and platform integrations.
Coordinate onboarding activities across internal stakeholders.
Ensure customers meet operational readiness standards before entering production.
Maintain onboarding documentation and operational standards.
Platform Operations
Support platform enablement activities including Athena, EDR integrations, API configuration, and access management.
Validate customer deployments and platform configuration.
Assist with operational maintenance and customer lifecycle changes.
Support customer offboarding and decommissioning workflows.
Process Improvement & Automation
Document and continuously improve operational workflows.
Identify repetitive operational tasks suitable for automation.
Contribute to workflow standardization across the MDR organization.
Support AI-assisted operational initiatives that improve consistency, scalability, and service quality.
Partner with Engineering and Product teams to improve operational tooling and platform capabilities.

We're Looking For
Technical Background
Understanding of networking fundamentals, cloud technologies, identity platforms, and cybersecurity concepts.
Familiarity with enterprise security technologies such as Network Detection and Response (NDR), including Vectra AI; Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar platforms; and SIEM platforms, such as Microsoft Sentinel, is preferred.
Experience using ticketing, workflow management, CRM, or documentation tools such as Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Confluence, Excel, Google Sheets, or similar platforms is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT operations, technical support, MDR, SOC, SaaS operations, or customer operations.
Experience working within structured operational processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting MDR, SOC, or cybersecurity operations.
Experience with customer onboarding or SaaS implementation workflows.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and identity technologies.
Experience with APIs, automation tools, or scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Experience working with AI-assisted productivity tools such as ChatGPT or similar platforms.
Exposure to workflow automation technologies.
