Who We Want
The Quality Engineer will develop and execute exploratory tests to ensure product quality. Responsibilities for this role include designing and implementing manual tests, debugging and defining corrective actions, reviewing system requirements, and tracking quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts). This role plays an important part in our company’s product development process by conducting manual tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets the company needs while being cost-effective. Ultimately, this role will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.
What You'll Do
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Own analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
Collaborates with their team to ensure stability, basic functionality, and meets the needs of the company
Estimate, prioritize, and plan testing activities
Have a basic understanding of the automation scripts used by QA Automation for your team
Prioritize and customize test cases to facilitate addition to automation suites
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs (Jira)
Exhibit ownership of your team’s bugs
Identify high-risk changes before they are integrated into the main version
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products
Liaise with internal & external teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
Deliver feedback and reports to the team and actively participate in Scrum activities
Qualifications
2+ years experience in software QA or in an IT related field
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD
Knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes
Some experience with both white box and black box testing
Some experience with automated testing strategies
Basic knowledge of SQL and scripting
Some knowledge of API testing and tools and non-functional testing (performance/stress testing/load)
