About MoonPay

Hi, we’re MoonPay. We’re here to onboard the world to the decentralized economy by making digital money move as universally and effortlessly as the internet.

Why?

Because crypto, stablecoins and blockchain aren’t just technologies. They’re tools for global financial empowerment. They give people and businesses more control over their money, their digital assets, and their future, opening access to legacy financial systems that have been out of reach for many.

What we do
MoonPay is a unified payments platform for digital currency. We make it easy for anyone, anywhere, to buy, sell, swap and pay in digital currencies as easy as sending an email. That simplicity is intentional, our focus is reducing complexity so people can participate confidently, without needing to be crypto experts. We power the entire flow between fiat and crypto end to end, with compliance, identity checks, fraud prevention, and settlement all built in. This end-to-end approach reflects how we work internally: with accountability, rigor, and trust built into everything we ship.

Proven at scale

Trusted by over 30 million customers and over 500 ecosystem partners, our secure, enterprise-grade platform is driving mainstream crypto adoption worldwide. Behind those numbers are millions of real people and organizations relying on MoonPay every day.

We collaborate with innovative brands and projects to build secure, scalable solutions for a blockchain-powered future. This is an opportunity to help shape systems, not just scale them. And we’re committed to doing it right. Fully licensed in the U.S. and regulated across the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia, because trust and compliance are non-negotiable.

But we’re just getting started. We’ve launched a consumer app that makes crypto accessible, intuitive, and usable for everyone, and it’s growing fast. We’re iterating every day to make it the best it can be.

If you believe financial freedom should be for everyone. If you believe in building a fairer, more open financial system - we want you with us. To build systems that benefit all, we need contributions from all, regardless of background.

Come build the future of payments and the decentralized economy with MoonPay. Let’s make financial freedom and autonomy the new normal.

About the Opportunity

MoonPay is looking for a Product Compliance Specialist to support the compliance partnership for one or more of our business verticals.

MoonPay’s product surface spans consumer payments, enterprise stablecoin infrastructure, institutional digital asset services, merchant checkout, and emerging AI-agent commerce. Each of these products needs to be built, launched, and operated in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

In this role, you will work closely with Product, Legal, Engineering, Design, Compliance Risk, and Operations teams to help translate complex and fragmented global regulatory requirements into clear, actionable product guidance. You will support defined compliance workstreams with growing independence, helping teams understand obligations, document requirements, assess product risk, and prepare products for compliant launch and ongoing operation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with early-to-mid career experience in compliance, legal, product operations, or risk who wants to build deep expertise at the intersection of crypto, payments, product development, and regulation.

What You Will Do

  • Support cross-functional partners across Product, Legal, Engineering, Design, and Operations on compliance matters throughout the product lifecycle, from ideation and design through development, testing, launch, and post-launch review.

  • Build working knowledge of your assigned MoonPay business verticals, which may include consumer payments, enterprise stablecoin infrastructure, institutional digital asset services, merchant checkout, or AI-agent commerce, along with the regulatory frameworks that apply to it.

  • Translate regulatory requirements into practical product and engineering guidance, including supporting Business Requirements Documents, implementation plans, control requirements, and launch readiness documentation.

  • Assist with product risk assessments for new offerings and enhancements, helping identify compliance vulnerabilities, document mitigation options, and flag areas where obligations across product lines or jurisdictions intersect or conflict.

  • Review product features, user-facing communications, marketing materials, policies, procedures, and training materials to help ensure they remain aligned with consumer protection, disclosure, licensing, and broader regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate cross-functional compliance workstreams, including sign-offs, documentation updates, licensing confirmations, control implementation, regulatory change implementation milestones, and regular progress updates to your manager and the compliance team.

About You

  • You have 2–4 years of experience in compliance, legal, product operations, or risk within financial services, fintech, payments, or a related regulated environment, ideally with some exposure to crypto or digital assets.

  • You have a working understanding of blockchain and digital assets. You can speak credibly about on-chain transactions, stablecoin mechanics, and wallet infrastructure, and you are actively building fluency in areas such as DeFi protocols, smart contracts, and tokenization.

  • You are interested in product development and either have experience working with product and engineering teams or are eager to build that experience by engaging earlier in the product lifecycle rather than reviewing outputs only after the fact.

  • You are developing the ability to think across business lines and regulatory regimes, including frameworks such as BitLicense requirements, money transmitter obligations, MiCA authorization, trust company requirements, and other jurisdiction-specific obligations.

  • You communicate clearly, manage your own deliverables, and work with growing independence in fast-moving environments, knowing when to take initiative and when to escalate to a senior compliance partner for guidance.

Nice-to-have experience

  • Progress toward or completion of professional certifications such as ACAMS, CRMP, CRCM, CCEP, or equivalent.

  • Exposure to NYDFS regulations, BitLicense requirements, state money transmitter licensing, or other payments and digital asset regulatory frameworks.

  • Familiarity with institutional crypto products such as custody, OTC trading, tokenized securities, DeFi yield products, or enterprise stablecoin infrastructure.

  • Exposure to AI-adjacent compliance considerations, including agent-based transactions, automated decision-making, or emerging AI-enabled commerce models.

  • Experience with KYC/KYB processes, transaction monitoring, fraud operations, or compliance operations in a crypto, fintech, or payments environment.

  • Prior experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
