We are recruiting a EHS Team Lead to join our site in Ballytivnan, Sligo on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract.

The position reports directly to the EHS Manager.  You will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of Environmental Health and Safety are maintained throughout the plant in an ever-changing business environment. This is a great opportunity to build your skills and technical skills in a highly regulated environment.

What you will do:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to the Environmental, Health, and Safety function.
  • Take responsibility for setting priorities, guiding team performance, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across EHS programs.
  • Lead, coach and coordinate others rather than performing day-to-day technical tasks independently.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the EHS team to deliver consistent, high-quality support across the site or business unit.
  • Set direction, priorities, and goals for the EHS function aligned with organizational objectives
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, systems, and compliance activities
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure the team maintains readiness for audits, inspections, and reporting obligations
  • Partner with site leadership, operations, and cross-functional teams to strengthen a proactive safety culture
  • Review EHS performance metrics, identify trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions
  • Assign work, manage team workload, and ensure timely completion of critical deliverables
  • Support incident investigations by providing leadership, review, and escalation as needed
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that reduce risk and improve EHS performance
  • Communicate expectations clearly and hold the team accountable for results
  • Serve as a key EHS advisor to leadership on risk, compliance, and strategic priorities

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Strong knowledge of applicable EHS regulations and best practices
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical / medical device or similar industry
  • Experience leading audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action programs
  • Demonstrated success in building engagement and accountability within a team
