Amazon's World Wide Grocery Store Technology (WWGST) organization is on a mission to make Amazon the most loved grocery destination on earth for customers to fulfill their weekly grocery shopping needs. We are building the technology that powers Amazon's physical grocery stores, including Whole Foods Market, and we develop the in-store tools that enable our team members to operate and complete the critical tasks needed to run a grocery store every day. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager who can coordinate complex projects spanning multiple organizations to deliver solutions that empower our in-store team members and drive operational excellence across our grocery network.
Key job responsibilities
The Technical Program Manager will drive the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical programs that span multiple engineering teams, business stakeholders, and organizational boundaries. This includes defining program scope, milestones, and success criteria in partnership with engineering, product, and operations leaders, as well as identifying and managing cross-team dependencies, risks, and blockers to keep programs on track. The role requires facilitating alignment across distributed teams to ensure technical solutions meet the needs of in-store team members, developing executive-level communications and program roadmaps, and partnering with engineering teams to understand system architecture, technical constraints, and integration points across services. The Technical Program Manager will also establish and improve program management processes that scale with organizational growth, and drive continuous improvement through post-launch metrics tracking and retrospectives.- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
