The AWC Manager acts as manager of a multidisciplinary wellness program supporting people with neurologic disorders through virtual, hybrid, and in-person programming. In this position, the Program Manager works with outpatient and inpatient clinical programs, research teams, and operation stakeholders at Shepherd Center to develop, manage, evaluate, and grow tele-wellness content and programming, as well as oversee the Best Health Suite – a dedicated space for digital content creation, group classes, and collaborative wellness activities. The role ensures quality, safety, accessibility, and alignment with Shepherd Center’s mission while advancing innovative wellness delivery models.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development of Tele-Wellness and Hybrid Wellness Programming
- Design tailored, evidenced-based tele-wellness content for people with neurologic disorders by acquiring input from potential users, clinicians, and other stakeholders.
- Identify types of digital, hybrid, and in-person content needed to establish and maintain a comprehensive tele-wellness program.
- Identify potential instructors for each type of class based on expertise, experience, and program needs.
- Create original tele-wellness content to directly address the needs, concerns, and preferences of stakeholders.
- Categorize wellness content based on user needs and organize programming into goal-specific offerings across delivery formats.
Management of Tele-Wellness Program, Best Health Suite, and Industry Partnerships
- Lead operational management of the Best Health Suite, including scheduling, utilization planning, training on equipment use, and day-to-day coordination.
- Develop and oversee workflows and processes for appropriate, safe, and effective use of both digital platforms and wellness space by clinical and research program teams.
- Optimize utilization of virtual and physical wellness resources to align with organizational priorities, patient needs, and program growth.
- Serve as primary liaison between clinical teams, instructors, leadership, industry partners, and all stakeholders.
- Work with tele-health industry partners to communicate Shepherd’s Tele-Wellness vision.
- Communicate the needs and concerns of clinicians to tele-health industry partners.
Content Oversight, Quality Assurance, and Staff Leadership
- Facilitate sustained content development across disciplines by working with various outpatient and inpatient programs to identify and troubleshoot any needs and concerns.
- Provide oversight, onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing support for Clinical Tele-Exercise Instructors and contributing clinicians.
- Review and edit pre-recorded digital content and audit all programming for quality assurance, safety, accessibility, and professionalism.
- Maintain catalogue of available content and identify types of content needed to maintain a comprehensive tele-wellness platform.
- Set standards and expectations for excellence across virtual, hybrid, and in-person wellness offerings.
Training and Supporting Clinical Staff
Train clinical and contributing staff on best practices for:
- Instructor presence and audience engagement
- Audio quality, speech clarity, and environmental considerations
- Use of commercial recording equipment
- Recording on-demand and live content
- Posting and managing digital content on online platforms
- Hybrid and in-person wellness delivery models
User Engagement, Promotion, and Program Evaluation
- Monitor utilization, engagement, attendance, and performance metrics across tele-wellness and Best Health Suite programming.
- Use data to guide program decisions, identify growth opportunities, and recommend enhancements.
- Generate promotional content for online classes, hybrid offerings, and wellness events aligned with organizational branding.
- Establish interactive virtual events to maintain clinician-user rapport, build community, and generate real time feedback from users.
- Maintain feedback loops with users, clinicians, and leadership to continuously refine programming.
Safety and Compliance
- Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to digital and physical wellness programming.
- Identify potential risk areas and support problem resolution processes to maintain program integrity and safety.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Health or Exercise science or related field from a four-year college or university.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Candidate must have a minimum of three years professional experience in health and wellness or related field.
- Extensive working knowledge of health and wellness.
- General knowledge of telecommunications and recording devices and associated software.
- Completes orientation and initial assessment of competency successfully by determined due date.
- Completes mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements by determined due date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work without direct supervision.
- Proven track record of developing original tele-health content related to rehabilitation, exercise, or nutrition.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS – This position may require participating in physical activity and exercise.
