Provides tactical and strategic leadership for the assigned pharmacy service teams. Oversees all aspects of clinical operations, safety and quality of responsible teams, legal and regulatory standards, and operationally excellent care and services within respective areas.
Essential Functions:
- Provides operational, clinical, and administrative leadership to ensure safe, effective, and efficient medication-use practices across all pharmacy service areas.
- Oversees recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of pharmacists, technicians, interns, residents, and students, including scheduling and workflow optimization to ensure adequate coverage and timely service delivery.
- Leads quality and performance improvement initiatives, monitoring key metrics related to safety, accuracy, turnaround time, and cost efficiency.
- Develops, implements, and ensures compliance and regulation with departmental policies, internal standards, and all applicable state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborates with pharmacy and organizational leadership to establish annual and long-range departmental goals, prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Partners with interdisciplinary patient care teams and participates in hospital committees and professional organizations to support high-quality, patient-centered pharmacy services and help advance pharmacy practice.
Education Requirement:
- Doctor of Pharmacy, required. Candidates who have been licensed and practicing as a pharmacist since before 2004 may qualify with a bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field, preferred.
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program, preferred.
Licensure Requirement:
Current and unrestricted Licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Ohio, required.
Certifications:
Board Certification preferred, if applicable to area of practice.

- Demonstrate knowledge of clinical and operational pharmacy practices sufficient for the oversight and tactical execution of pharmacy clinical operations.

Experience:
- Three years of experience as a hospital pharmacy manager or coordinator, preferred.
- Pediatric experience, preferred.
- Extensive experience across pharmacy clinical operations areas, preferred.
- Strong experience and competency with pharmacy technology systems and data analysis, preferred.
