πŸ’Š Role Overview

Provides integrated support to patients and pharmacists with a hands-on approach to total quality patient care.
You will:
βœ” Work closely with patients to deliver a full continuum of medication adherence support using our tools and applications
βœ” Encourage patients of specialty clinics to utilize pharmacy services for superior care
βœ” Seamlessly integrate with the clinic team (doctors, nurses, staff) as you’ll be located in one of the medical center clinics

πŸ›  Job Duties

  • 🌟 Provide β€œlegendary” care to hospital patients with custom medication management services
  • πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Work alongside hospital clinicians to serve patients face-to-face and over the phone
  • πŸ“š Educate prospective pharmacy patients on how hospital services improve care
  • πŸ› Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription needs
  • πŸ“ˆ Grow the specialty pharmacy’s patient population
  • πŸ”„ Ensure patients stay on track with medication regimens (outbound check-ups, securing refills, etc.)
  • πŸ“ž Communicate effectively with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding reports and lists
  • πŸ” Help develop new processes for smooth operations and patient care
  • ❄ Identify medications requiring special storage (hazardous/refrigerated)
  • 🧰 Identify necessary supplies (sharps containers, syringes, alcohol swabs, Band-Aids)
  • πŸ“₯ Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries
  • ☎ Perform refill reminder calls under pharmacist supervision
  • πŸ’³ Resolve insurance issues, assist with prior authorizations (PAs), and financial assistance
  • πŸ–₯ Ensure accurate documentation in all systems
  • πŸ“Š Manage and update data using database applications
  • πŸ’‘ Apply observations to improve productivity, quality, and service standards
  • πŸ”„ Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements
  • πŸš€ Actively participate in process improvement initiatives
  • 🀝 Act as a value-added business partner to stakeholders
  • πŸ” Protect organization’s value by maintaining confidentiality
  • πŸ“š Update knowledge through education, publications, and networking

πŸ“š Experience / Education

  • Required Licensure/Certification: Experienced pharmacy technicians; CPhT preferred but not required
  • Years of Experience: Required 2 years; Preferred 3–5 years as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required

For New York State Residents: This information is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Shields Health Solutions. An employee in this position can expect a salary rate between $62,353.20 and $64,000.00 plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan, if applicable. The actual salary will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
