Technical Hardware Program Manager

About SpotOn

We’re not just building restaurant tech, we’re giving independent restaurants the tools to compete and win. From our award-winning point-of-sale to AI-powered profit tools, everything we do helps operators boost profit, work smarter, and keep their best people. And every solution is backed by real humans who actually give a sh*t about helping restaurants succeed.

  • Named the #1 Restaurant POS by G2 (Fall 2025), based on ratings from real users

  • Rated the top-rated point-of-sale (POS) for restaurants, bars, retail, and small businesses by Capterra users

  • Awarded Great Places to Work and Built In’s Best Workplaces for multiple years running

We move fast, care hard, and fight for independent restaurant operators to do what they love, and love doing it. If you’re looking to make an impact with heart and hustle, SpotOn is the place for you.

You’ll be the person who brings structure, clarity, and momentum to our hardware initiatives — a uniquely complex space where our Payments team, Hospitality engineering org, warehouse operations, and executive leadership all intersect.

You’ll own the end-to-end coordination of how SpotOn introduces new hardware and manages hardware changes — from aligning teams early in the process, to tracking progress across workstreams, to making sure the right people are informed at the right time. This isn’t a role where you’ll be handed a playbook. You’ll write it.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive hardware initiative planning and execution across cross-functional teams including Payments, Hospitality engineering, warehouse operations, Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales

  • Coordinate dependencies and changes across teams for new hardware launches and hardware updates, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

  • Partner with the warehouse team to align on purchasing timelines, inventory readiness, and rollout sequencing

  • Own stakeholder communication with executive leadership (CEO, CTO, CPO) and VPs — keeping them informed, aligned, and unblocked

  • Ensure decisions are grounded in data — pushing the org to make well-supported calls and flagging when they’re not

  • Track and communicate project status across all active hardware workstreams, surfacing risks early and driving resolution

  • Collaborate with product marketing on positioning and go-to-market strategy for new hardware launches

  • Build the processes, templates, and rhythms that will define how SpotOn manages hardware programs going forward

  • Leverage tools like Jira to track workstreams, surface blockers, and keep teams aligned across concurrent initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in a software or hardware-adjacent environment

  • Enough technical depth to hold a credible conversation with engineers — you don’t need to write code, but you need to understand tradeoffs

  • Proven track record of driving cross-functional initiatives in environments without perfect structure or clear playbooks

  • Strong communicator who can translate complexity into clarity for both technical teams and executive stakeholders

  • Data-driven by default — you push for evidence before decisions and know how to build the case when it doesn’t exist yet

  • Experience coordinating with supply chain, warehouse, or operations teams is a strong plus

  • Comfortable operating as a solo contributor without a PMO to lean on — you’re energized by building, not maintaining

  • Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tooling preferred

  • Past restaurant experience — especially having worked in one — is a serious plus

Why This Role

This is a rare opportunity to influence how hardware is managed at a company that’s scaling fast and building real things. You’ll have direct visibility with our executive team, meaningful ownership over outcomes that affect our restaurant customers, and the chance to leave a lasting mark on how SpotOn operates. If you’ve ever wanted to build the program management muscle at a company that actually needs it — this is it.
