Product Manager, Laptops and Tablets, Devices and Platforms

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.
One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.
The Device and Platform Product Manager is responsible for understanding market, business, and partner dynamics, along with industry trends and technologies. You will define, deliver, launch, and land innovative laptop products that meet the needs of users and the business.
You will author and drive Product Requirement Documents for individual SoC platforms and laptop devices. You will review, and collaborate with stakeholders to gain alignment on features, timing, costs, and markets.
You will work with the cross-functional set of internal and external stakeholders, which include Platform and Feature Sofrware, Engineering, GTM, Business development, and Marketing. You will interact with ecosystem partners (e.g., OEMs, Silicon vendors) to ensure the ecosystem is aligned to deliver the products. Additionally you will drive a road map of features customizable by OEM partners.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
- 2 years of experience working on consumer electronics hardware or software.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, along with the ability to influence without direct authority.
