Job Description

About Visa & Visa Commercial Solutions:
Visa is a global leader in digital payments, connecting consumers, merchants, financial institutions, and governments across more than 200 countries. Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) provides businesses of all sizes with a comprehensive suite of payment and financial management solutions. Within VCS, the Small Business (SMB) segment is an essential growth area, where Visa is focused on unlocking the full potential of our network for small business owners.

The Opportunity:
Visa is seeking an experienced product strategy candidate to serve as our Director, Product – Global SMB. This highly visible role will define and drive the global product strategy for the Small Business segment while aligning execution across regions. This is a strategic leadership role – where you establish direction in setting the roadmap and operating model that guide product teams and regional business units in serving small businesses. Your mandate is to turn Visa’s assets into a coherent, scalable growth engine for SMBs worldwide by translating market insights and customer needs into strategic direction, influencing product roadmaps and investments, and ensuring regional alignment.

This is a unique opportunity to define how one of the world’s largest payment networks serves small businesses at scale. If you are a strategic yet hands-on leader with a passion for empowering small businesses through innovation and collaboration, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SMB Segment Strategy Ownership: Own the end-to-end global product strategy for the SMB segment across relevant offerings (card issuing, money movement, value-added services, emerging digital solutions). Define a cohesive SMB segment narrative that translates Visa’s platform capabilities into clear, compelling value propositions for small business customers. Serve as the voice of the SMB segment in internal forums – influencing product strategy, innovation initiatives, and investment decisions
  • Global–Regional Operating Model: Design and lead a structured operating model that connects global product strategy with regional execution. Establish a regular cadence with regional product and go-to-market teams (across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, LAC, CEMEA) to align on priorities, share market insights, and ensure that global SMB strategy is executed effectively in local markets. Act as the “connective tissue” between global and regional teams – enabling consistent priorities, clear decision rights, and information flow.
  • Product & Commercial Influence: Represent SMB needs in Visa’s global product planning and innovation forums. Ensure that SMB requirements are embedded in product roadmaps and platform enhancements by closely collaborating with product owners across issuing, payments, and new capabilities (e.g. digital asset initiatives, AI-enabled commerce, and other emerging technology/ trends). Co-develop launch plans for new products and features, bridging product design with commercialization, partner enablement, and regional sales/partner teams.
  • Investment Prioritization & Resource Alignment: Shape and guide SMB-related investments and resource allocation. Partner with finance and senior leadership to align budgets and incentives with SMB priorities, ensuring cross-functional teams are incentivized to deliver on the SMB strategy. Build business cases for new initiatives or headcount as needed, grounded in market opportunity and ROI, and establish funding mechanisms that encourage other product teams to prioritize SMB needs in their planning.
