Associate Product Manager

Sun King · New Delhi

Job location: Remote in India

About the role:
The Associate Product Manager will work as part of the Digitization and Automation team to help Sun King design, develop, and implement intelligent, tech‑enabled solutions to solve a wide variety of business problems.

We are looking for candidates who have an AI‑first approach to product management. The ideal candidate instinctively reaches for an LLM before opening a document, prototypes before writing specifications, and treats “can AI do this better” as the first question rather than an afterthought.

This role covers end‑to‑end product management: requirements gathering, workflow design, testing, stakeholder coordination, and rollouts. The expectation is that all of these responsibilities are executed in an AI‑first way: faster, sharper, and built to scale.
1. Product Discovery & Problem Framing
  • Work with stakeholders including customers, agents, operations, field teams, and business leads to identify workflow pain points.
  • Document opportunities as structured briefs rather than simple ticket descriptions.
  • Use AI to synthesize inputs, identify patterns, and convert ambiguity into actionable solutions.
2. Prototype Before Spec
  • Build working proofs‑of‑concept using LLM APIs, automation tools, or lightweight scripts.
  • Validate whether an AI‑first approach solves the problem effectively.
  • Ship quickly and learn even faster.
3. Documentation & Handoffs
  • Create sharp, handoff‑ready documentation such as use cases, flow charts, PRDs, and system requirements.
  • Use AI in documentation workflows but ensure accuracy by catching errors that AI may introduce.
4. Execution & Rollouts
  • Coordinate releases, manage testing, and track adoption.
  • Resolve stakeholder queries and issues through WhatsApp, ticketing tools, and email.
  • Own rollout sequencing and ensure readiness across teams.
5. Automation & Data
  • Identify repetitive business processes and automate them using reliable tools.
  • Perform regular analytics to track, monitor, and drive product usage.
6. Collaboration
  • Work closely with cross‑functional groups and the development team throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Keep stakeholders informed at every stage.
7. Travel
Travel as required to Sun King markets, including Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Myanmar, and Tanzania.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mandatory).
  • 1–3 years of prior professional experience in product management, automation, or related technology roles.
  • Hands‑on experience with SQL.
  • A GitHub profile or portfolio with shipped prototypes, automations, or internal tools.
  • Evidence of LLM and AI foundations (Anthropic courses, fast.ai, DeepLearning.AI, or equivalent self‑learning).
  • Experience working with data to track and push product usage.
  • Ability to structure and analyze ambiguous problems.
  • Clear communication skills across workflows, feature descriptions, Slack messages, and stakeholder updates.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to get hands‑on.
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Professional growth in a dynamic, rapidly expanding, high-social-impact industry
  • An open-minded, collaborative culture made up of enthusiastic colleagues who are driven by the challenge of innovation towards profound impact on people and the planet.
  • A truly multicultural experience: you will have the chance to work with and learn from people from different geographies, nationalities, and backgrounds.
  • Structured, tailored learning and development programs that help you become a better leader, manager, and professional through the Sun King Center for Leadership.
