Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Marine/Land Surveyor to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing:
Planning and executing topographic, hydrographic, and geodetic surveys for coastal, offshore, and onshore projects.
Setting out, observing, and recording survey data using GNSS receivers, total stations, levels, and hydrographic survey equipment.
Establishing and maintaining control networks and benchmarks for construction, dredging, and infrastructure projects.
Downloading, processing, and validating survey data using appropriate software to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Producing survey drawings, charts, plans, and digital terrain models (DTMs) in CAD and GIS environments.
Preparing survey reports, metadata, and documentation in line with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Supporting engineering and construction teams with setting out, monitoring, and as-built surveys for marine and land-based structures.
Coordinating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and vessel crews to schedule and execute survey activities safely and efficiently.
Assisting with quantity calculations, volume computations, and progress measurements for dredging, reclamation, and earthworks.
Applying quality control procedures, performing checks, and verifying survey results against specifications and tolerances.
Ensuring all field activities comply with company HSE standards, marine regulations, and industry best practices.
Maintaining, calibrating, and caring for survey instruments and associated equipment; keeping accurate equipment logs.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Degree or diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or closely related field.
8 years of experience in land surveying, with exposure to marine or coastal surveys
Ability to perform topographic, control, and construction surveys, and to carry out basic calculations such as levels, distances, and coordinates.
Working knowledge of survey and CAD software
Willingness and ability to work in outdoor environments
Understanding of basic HSE principles and commitment to safe working practices.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience in hydrographic surveying, coastal engineering surveys, or offshore projects.
Experience with advanced survey software for data processing and adjustment
Knowledge of GIS software and workflows
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards
Previous involvement in client-facing roles, with the ability to explain survey findings and constraints
