ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are seeking a Senior to join our Real Estate Advisory Services (REAS) team at Anchin. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic client base while gaining exposure to both tax compliance and advisory services within the real estate industry.

The ideal candidate brings strong partnership tax experience, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is looking to deepen expertise in real estate taxation and structuring.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for:
    • Partnerships, LLCs, and flow-through entities.
    • Real estate operating entities, holding companies, and investment structures.
    • High-net-worth individuals with real estate holdings.
  • Analyze partnership agreements, allocations, and waterfall structures.
  • Perform book-to-tax adjustments, depreciation calculations, and basis tracking.
  • Support tax planning and advisory initiatives, including:
    • Entity structuring and restructuring.
    • Transaction support (acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing).
    • 1031 exchanges and other deferral strategies.
  • Conduct tax research and draft technical memos on complex real estate tax issues.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Partners on planning strategies and client deliverables.
  • Manage multiple engagements and deadlines across a diverse client portfolio.
  • Review the work of junior team members and provide mentorship and guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA  preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of public accounting tax experience, preferably within real estate advisory services (REAS).
  • Demonstrated experience with real estate clients and partnership taxation.
  • Strong understanding of Subchapter K, allocations, and tiered entity structures.
  • Experience with tax software (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Compensation:

  • Competitive annual salary in the range of $85,000 to $125,000 based on individual’s experience level.
