Area Property Manager
Under the direction of the Regional Portfolio Manager and Senior Regional Manager, the Area Property Manager plays a key leadership role in the success of our Colorado portfolio. This position is responsible for supervising community managers, training and developing onsite teams, and ensuring operational excellence across all properties.
You’ll work closely with onsite staff to drive resident satisfaction, maximize occupancy, and ensure company policies and procedures are consistently applied. The ideal candidate is adaptable, strong communicator, problem-solver, and leader who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple multifamily communities, ensuring operational excellence and consistency across all sites.
Collaborate with on-site teams to drive strong performance, maximize resident satisfaction, and uphold company standards.
Conduct regular property inspections and manage maintenance activities, capital projects, and overall asset performance.
Monitor financial reports and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability.
Lead and implement strategic leasing and marketing initiatives to achieve occupancy, retention, and revenue objectives.
Train and mentor Property Managers and on-site teams, fostering professional development and high-performing operations
Manage and schedule vendors for routine property maintenance and upkeep.
Cultivate an entrepreneurial “ownership” mindset among Community Managers to promote accountability and engagement. Regularly tour communities to ensure exceptional property appearance, build relationships with team members, survey resident satisfaction, and recommend operational improvements to enhance resident experience and retention.
Supervise Community Managers in conducting move-out inspections, overseeing unit renovations, and coordinating move-ins to ensure timely turnovers and minimize vacancy loss.
Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all communities.
Qualifications
5+ years of proven experience in multifamily property management including regional or multi-site oversight.
High School Diploma, equivalent post secondary education is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities with onsite staff.
Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with residents, vendors, and team members.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel weekly between sites.
CAM or CAP is preferred
