A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee owned consultant engineering firm, is seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Project Manager to join our Team in Richmond, VA office.
Position will supervise a team of field and office survey staff, manage clients, project schedules, budgets, and deadlines. Establish task outline and survey procedures for each task assignment. Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews for each task assignment. Provide mentoring for office and field survey staff.

Responsibilities
Supervise office and field survey staff
Prepare survey task outlines with the role and responsibility of each survey staff assigned to the project
Perform kickoff meetings with engineering managers and clients to confirm the limits of the survey, the scope of work, and key Briefing and Debriefing of field crews on daily work performed.
Oversee scheduling of field and office survey staff
Correspond and coordinate with clients
Perform quality control checks of field survey data collection and office survey computations and completed survey drawings
Provide mentoring for survey office and field staff
Perform troubleshooting on challenges encountered on survey task assignments
Prepare proposal scoping and fees
Track project schedule and budget
Project Invoicing
Responsible for the financial outcome of survey tasks and projects
Qualifications
10+ years of surveying experience or comparable survey coursework with degree
Bachelor's Degree in Geography, surveying, or engineering preferred
Virginia Licensed Surveyor
Valid Driver's License and safe driving record
Supervisory experience, leadership skills, and well as written and oral communication skills
Excellent client services and client management skills
Excellent organizational skills and following AMT survey protocol
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent survey task assignments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong team player with a commitment to company values
Mentoring survey office staff and field staff
Ability to work under and respond to stressful situations
