Operation Quality Engineer

Job Summary
This role is dedicated to ensuring daily quality performance for Laser printer products. The engineers will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to monitor, analyze, and improve production quality, drive timely issue resolution, and support continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, the role requires strong capability in coordinating engineering quality activities for new products by partnering with regional and core teams to implement the Quality Assurance Plan, lead cross-functional coordination efforts, deliver HP quality specifications, and establish quality and test objectives.
Responsibilities
- Monitors daily factory quality metrics and lead containment actions for any deviations.
- Performs overall tracking and reporting of various quality related performance metrics.
- Partners with factory teams to reduce audit failure rates and improves end-of-line yield.
- Drives root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
- Leads monthly factory quality reviews with external partners. And conducts regular quality audits in the factories with HP cross functional teams.
- Supports New Product Integration (NPI) builds through quality audits; Review and evaluates product and solution designs and production activities for potential quality issues.
- Collaborates with R&D and supply chain teams on engineering changes that impact factory operations. Provides tangible feedback based on results and root-cause analysis and implements solutions to improve product quality and mitigate risk of failures
- Promotes Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives to optimize processes.
- Leads special projects to address unique technical or business challenges. Plans and manages quality control activities as needed to support continuous improvement and enhance manufacturing quality performance.
- Communicates product and process issue analyses to stakeholders in a timely manner; Collaborates with management, internal teams, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement countermeasures that reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs
Education & Experience Recommended
- Four-year bachelor’s degree or Graduate Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in quality assurance, reliability, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
