The Opportunity 

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an ambitious and commercially minded Retail Leasing Executive to join the Retail Leasing and Location X team in NSW. 

 

This role will support the Head of Specialty Mall Leasing, taking ownership of specialty mall leasing and pop-up retail activations across a portfolio of shopping centres throughout Queensland.  

 

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving occupancy outcomes, retailer engagement, mall income growth and customer activation initiatives. The role requires a highly organised brand, marketing or leasing professional with strong retailer relationship management skills, negotiation capability and a passion for retail property and emerging retail trends. Brand partnership experience is a plus.  

 

You will work closely with landlords, centre management teams, retailers, casual mall operators and internal stakeholders to deliver casual mall leasing outcomes plus experiential brand activations that enhance asset performance and customer experience. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Specialty Mall Leasing & Location X 

  • Drive specialty mall leasing revenue across the states shopping centre portfolio 

  • Identify, source and secure casual mall leasing operators, pop-up retailers and experiential activations 

  • Build relationships with emerging brands, online retailers, local businesses and promotional partners 

  • Manage short-term leasing campaigns including kiosks, RMUs, pop-up stores and brand activations 

  • Collaborate with centre management and marketing teams to deliver engaging customer experiences 

  • Ensure all specialty leasing activities align with centre brand positioning and operational requirements 

  • Monitor mall leasing performance, occupancy and revenue targets across the portfolio 

  • Assist in growing the LocationX platform and expanding retailer participation opportunities 

  • Identify and execute third line revenue opportunities  

 

Client & Stakeholder Management 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, retailers and internal stakeholders 

  • Provide timely leasing updates and reporting to clients and management teams 

  • Deliver a high level of customer service and retailer engagement across all interactions 

  • Support centre teams with retailer communication and leasing coordination 

  • Represent the business professionally at retailer meetings, industry events and networking opportunitie 

 

Market Intelligence & Business Development 

  • Maintain strong awareness of retail trends, emerging concepts and consumer behaviour 

  • Identify new retailer categories and activation opportunities suited to shopping centre environments 

  • Assist in driving additional leasing revenue opportunities across the portfolio 

  • Support cross-selling opportunities across broader property management and advisory services 

 

Skills & Experience 

  • 5+ years’ experience within retail leasing, shopping centre leasing, specialty leasing or retail property 

  • Exposure to shopping centre environments, landlord representation or commercial real estate preferred 

  • Experience negotiating lease renewals or retailer agreements highly regarded 

  • Strong understanding of specialty mall leasing, pop-up retail and experiential retail concepts advantageous 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills 

  • Highly organised with strong administrative and reporting capability 

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

  • Commercially minded with a proactive and solutions-focused approach 

 

Qualifications & Licences 

  • NSW Certificate of Registration or Class 2 Real Estate Licence preferred 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Property, Business, Marketing or Commerce advantageous 

  • Current driver’s licence
