About the Team
The Government Alliances team works closely with Central Government Ministries, State Governments, PSUs, Urban Local Bodies, Smart Cities, Regulatory Authorities, and Government-backed institutions to drive digital payment adoption and enable large-scale citizen payment ecosystems. The team plays a critical role in strengthening Paytm's position as a preferred digital payments partner for public sector entities.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven and entrepreneurial professional to join us as Senior Manager – Key Accounts (Government Alliances & Payments). The incumbent will be responsible for managing strategic government relationships, driving payment business growth, and leading the deployment of Paytm's payment solutions across government and public sector ecosystems.
The role requires strong stakeholder management capabilities, a deep understanding of government engagement models, and experience in managing large institutional accounts and payment programs.
Expectations / Requirements
Drive acquisition, management, and growth of key Government and PSU accounts across assigned territories.
Build and nurture relationships with senior government officials, department heads, procurement teams, and ecosystem partners.
Identify opportunities for implementing Paytm payment solutions across citizen services, taxes, utility collections, transportation, licensing, permits, and public service delivery platforms.
Lead discussions around payment digitization initiatives and support government digital transformation programs.
Manage end-to-end account lifecycle including business development, solutioning, commercial discussions, onboarding, implementation, and post-deployment growth.
Collaborate with Product, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure successful execution of projects.
Participate in RFPs, tenders, empanelments, and government procurement processes.
Develop strategic account plans and drive transaction growth, revenue growth, and wallet share expansion within existing accounts.
Monitor project delivery milestones and proactively manage escalations to ensure customer satisfaction.
Generate business insights and market intelligence on government payment trends, policy changes, and competitive developments.
Superpowers / Skills That Will Help You Succeed in This Role
8–12 years of experience in Government Sales, Enterprise Sales, Key Account Management, Payments, Fintech, Banking, or Technology sectors.
Demonstrated experience managing Government, PSU, Smart City, or large institutional accounts.
Strong understanding of digital payments, UPI, Payment Gateway, Collection Solutions, BBPS, QR-based payments, and enterprise payment ecosystems.
Experience handling government tenders, bids, procurement processes, and contract negotiations.
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
Strong communication, presentation, and business proposal development capabilities.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
