This role is a strategic client-facing position focused on managing and growing a portfolio of complex hospital and health system accounts within a self-funded healthcare environment. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior-level stakeholders and brokers, ensuring high-quality service delivery while driving retention and revenue growth across assigned clients. The position requires strong consultative skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence decision-makers in a highly regulated healthcare landscape. You will oversee multiple large accounts, coordinate cross-functional support teams, and ensure client expectations are consistently exceeded. The environment is fast-paced, relationship-driven, and centered on long-term partnership development. This is a high-impact role combining strategic account leadership with hands-on client management across the West Coast market.
Accountabilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of complex hospital and health system accounts, ensuring strong retention, revenue growth, and client satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders and brokers, maintaining executive-level relationships and trust.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and support expansion of services and solutions.
- Oversee service delivery across multiple client groups, coordinating with internal teams and client coordinators to ensure seamless execution.
- Monitor account performance, resolve client issues, and ensure all service commitments are met or exceeded.
- Support development of client strategies aligned with self-funded benefits programs and market trends.
- Provide coaching or mentorship to junior team members when applicable, contributing to overall team performance.
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in client management, or equivalent experience in a TPA, health insurance, or employee benefits environment; alternatively, high school diploma with 11+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of self-funded health plans, employee benefits, and related regulatory frameworks (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA).
- Proven experience managing complex, high-value client relationships and engaging with senior executive stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to mentor or support team members and contribute to team development and success.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as required.
