Your Impact
As the Director of EMEA Cyber Security & Compliance, you will serve as a pivotal leader, providing essential technical, business, and policy input to key EU stakeholders in Brussels and in EU member nations. You will act as a strategic partner to EMEA Sales, Cisco Government Affairs, and Cisco Legal, ensuring our regulatory stance aligns with our business objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Consult with high-level leaders in the defense industry and NATO to address complex security and compliance challenges.
- Establish yourself as a leader with vision in emerging cyber security standards and compliance, using social media, publications, and speaking engagements to influence the industry.
- Manage senior, VP-level internal and external engagements, representing Cisco’s vision and security posture at the highest levels.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that harmonize our technical capabilities with evolving European regulatory requirements.
- Support business critical public-private partnerships.
- Serve as an advocate for the development of sovereign technical solutions and capabilities.
- Drive the Cisco vision for the security impacts and business benefits of quantum computing, support customer understanding of the transition to PQC, and play a key role as a leading voice for security in the age of AI and quantum.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Industry-relevant certifications (e.g., CCSP, CIPP, CISSP, CCNA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in standards development and navigating the regulatory landscape.
- Practical experience in building or using AI tools to enhance security or compliance workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to lead high-stakes engagements with government officials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience in civil government or policy-making roles; or prior experience within a defense or intelligence agency of an EU nation.
- Significant experience in the technology industry, particularly regarding security infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and lead complex, cross-functional efforts across diverse teams.
- Experience creating effective metrics to drive strategic priorities and measure compliance success.
