Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
AutoVM's missing is to keep Alphabet secure by automatically finding all known security vulnerabilities and enabling fast, effective fixes for asset owners.
AutoVM stands for Automated Vulnerability Management. We are a mix of Software Engineers and Security Engineers that operate synergistically on complex efforts. The organization has a healthy mix of exciting new efforts and long running highly impactful programs. We are on the critical path of many risk reduction efforts and work vertically across the stack as well as horizontally across the company for workloads/assets in Cloud, Prod, Off-Google, Delivered Software, Corp, etc.
We leverage AI effectively to optimize our efforts and scanners, but we also do vulnerability management for AI with dedicated scanners and technology.
In this role, you will work with a group of engineers tackling this different set of technologies, expanding and maintaining our offering with a combination of standard and Google-specific technologies, supported by the bulk of AutoVM's global infrastructure and scanner engineering teams. You will be expected to balance security-heavy work with software engineering-focused execution, as AutoVM gets things done at scale through highly automated software components.
The role offers plenty of executive stakeholder engagement across many product areas, and a significant set of unsolved technical challenges across the cybersecurity industry.
