Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The Detection and Response team is on the front lines of this changing landscape, providing capabilities to ensure the safety of the users.
In this role, you will actively monitor our systems for security threats, attacks and intrusions. You will work with software engineers and technology subject matter experts to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
- 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
- 2 years of experience with coding in one or more general purpose languages.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar Cyber Security/Incident Response.
- Experience analyzing, triaging, and remediating common information security incidents.
- Experience with automation via coding or scripting.
- Understanding of common attacker tactics, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to work separately, prioritize, and multitask.
- Excellent problem-solving, investigative, and written and verbal communication skills.
