Salesforce Public Sector Professional Services is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support our growing Public Sector business. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Facility Security Officer (FSO), security team and other cross-functional teams to help manage and maintain our industrial security program in support of classified and sensitive customer work.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where security, compliance, and supporting business objectives are top priorities. You’ll play a key role in supporting security operations, maintaining compliance with federal requirements, and helping employees navigate security processes and responsibilities across a diverse portfolio of Public Sector programs.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Support the day-to-day administration of the industrial security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and other applicable Government regulations.
- Support personnel security activities, including reviewing SF85P, SF86, and eAPP submissions for accuracy and completeness, as well as supporting clearance tracking, visit requests, onboarding, and reinvestigations.
- Help protect classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and sensitive customer data across Public Sector programs.
- Partner with the FSO, security team, program teams, and leadership to support compliance efforts, audit readiness, and security operations.
- Assist with maintaining and updating security policies, procedures, and employee training programs.
- Support the coordination and tracking of security briefings, debriefings, onboarding activities, and recurring training requirements for cleared personnel.
- Assist the FSO with self-inspections, internal reviews, and Government audits, including tracking remediation efforts and documentation.
- Support incident reporting, foreign travel reporting, insider threat activities, and other required security processes.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding security procedures, reporting obligations, and best practices.
- Collaborate across teams to continuously improve security operations, processes, and employee awareness.
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizenship Required
- Must possess and be able to maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance. Candidates with an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance may also be considered.
- Working knowledge of industrial security requirements, including 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule.
- Experience supporting personnel security processes and cleared environments
- Familiarity with Government security systems such as DISS, NBIS/eAPP, and NISS.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a rapidly evolving environment.
- CUI Training, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Training, and Cyber Awareness. Training must be completed by the first day of employment.
- Must reside within the Washington, DC metropolitan area and have the ability to come into our McLean, VA office a few times a week if needed.
Nice to Haves:
- Prior experience in an AFSO, Security Specialist, CPSO, or related security support role.
- Experience supporting classified Government contracts or Public Sector programs.
- Experience supporting Insider Threat Program activities.
- Experience working in a Professional Services or federal contracting environment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Industrial Security or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience supporting industrial security, personnel security, or classified programs.
- Completion of the CDSE’s FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities curriculum within six months of hire.
