This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr/Staff Cybersecurity Engineer based in the United States.
This role sits at the core of protecting critical enterprise systems and safeguarding sensitive data across complex, large-scale environments. You will join a high-impact security engineering team focused on building and operating advanced Data Loss Prevention and cybersecurity capabilities. The position blends hands-on engineering, threat detection, and architectural design across cloud, endpoint, and network environments. You will play a key role in strengthening defenses against data exfiltration while enabling secure adoption of modern technologies, including AI-driven tools and platforms. Working in a mission-critical infrastructure context, your contributions will directly support operational resilience and national-scale services. This is a highly technical, fast-paced role where you will act as both builder and incident escalation expert. You will collaborate across security, engineering, and business teams to continuously improve security posture and operational excellence.
Accountabilities:
Lead the design, engineering, and operation of enterprise Data Loss Prevention and cybersecurity systems, ensuring protection of sensitive data across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments while enabling secure business operations.
- Own and operate the end-to-end data protection and DLP ecosystem across endpoints, networks, email, and cloud platforms
- Develop custom detection logic, queries, and automation to proactively identify and respond to data exfiltration threats
- Lead engineering efforts to integrate and govern security controls for AI and LLM-based applications and data flows
- Architect and enforce security policies across multiple communication and data channels including email, web, messaging, and cloud services
- Drive implementation, rollout, and continuous optimization of enterprise DLP programs and security tooling
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex cybersecurity and data incident investigations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions and ensure consistent policy enforcement
- Maintain operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and participation in on-call security rotations
Requirements
Experienced cybersecurity professional with strong hands-on expertise in data protection, incident response, and security engineering across modern enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, DLP, incident response, or related security engineering roles
- Strong experience with Data Loss Prevention tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Symantec DLP, Zscaler, Splunk, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages for automation, security tooling, and scripting
- Deep understanding of enterprise data flows, encryption, access controls, and security architecture principles
- Experience integrating multiple security systems and correlating events across platforms
- Familiarity with securing Generative AI/LLM applications and modern AI-driven data interactions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical risks into business insights for stakeholders and leadership
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments while collaborating across global, cross-functional teams
- Experience leading technical security initiatives or programs is highly preferred
