Security Analyst I

This role sits within a growing cloud and security engineering environment focused on strengthening the protection of critical internal and external systems. The analyst will play a key part in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats across a complex digital ecosystem. Working in a remote-first setup, the role combines hands-on technical investigation with proactive risk identification and mitigation. You will contribute directly to improving incident response maturity, vulnerability management, and security best practices across the organization. The position is ideal for a security professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys continuous learning in evolving threat landscapes. It also offers exposure to enterprise security tools, cloud environments, and cross-functional collaboration with IT and engineering teams.

Accountabilities:

The Security Analyst I is responsible for continuously strengthening the organization’s security posture through monitoring, investigation, and proactive defense activities.

  • Continuously monitor systems to detect, investigate, and respond to potential security breaches and suspicious activities across enterprise environments
  • Identify vulnerabilities across systems and support mitigation efforts to reduce organizational risk exposure
  • Develop, review, and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and security procedures to improve response readiness
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and risk evaluations to support informed security decisions
  • Generate detailed reports on security events, incidents, attack patterns, and overall security performance metrics
  • Support security audits and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and control effectiveness
  • Advise technical and leadership teams on security improvements and best practices
  • Maintain awareness of evolving security threats, trends, and defensive strategies
  • Requirements:

    The ideal candidate for this Security Analyst I role brings strong technical fundamentals, analytical thinking, and hands-on security experience.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or security operations with exposure to security policy development and enforcement
    • Strong understanding of security frameworks, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
    • Hands-on experience in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, or security risk analysis
    • Experience working with Microsoft Defender and/or cloud security environments is strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with SIEM tools such as Azure Sentinel or similar platforms
    • Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly PowerShell and KQL (preferred)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical risks clearly
    • Excellent problem-solving, research, and organizational skills with a proactive and self-driven mindset
    • Experience working in a SOC environment or collaborative security team is a plus
    • CISSP certification is considered an advantage
