Simulation Expert - Semiconductor Processes and Materials - Espoo

Bosch · Espoo, Uusimaa, Finland

Here at Bosch, we are creating the future by inventing technologies and services of high quality that can enrich peoples' lives. Our promise to our employees is solid: we grow together, we enjoy our work, and we inspire each other. Join us and feel the difference!

Join one of the major global players in the MEMS business! To strengthen our development center in Espoo, Finland, we are looking for simulation experts with a passion for semiconductor processes and innovation.

As a Simulation Expert, you will work on the modelling and simulation of semiconductor manufacturing processes, with a focus on plasma patterning and deposition. You will apply atomistic and continuum approaches, combining them to understand and optimize process behavior.

The role offers the opportunity to shape simulation-driven development in an evolving environment, requiring initiative, ownership, and independent topic development, as well as active cross-functional networking.

  • Process Simulation & Modelling: Multi-scale simulation of plasma and deposition processes.

  • Methods: Combine atomistic, continuum, analytical, and machine learning approaches.

  • From Research to Industrialization: Understand plasma–surface interactions and thin-film growth and translate insights into process improvements. Support transfer to high-volume manufacturing to enhance yield and reduce costs.

  • Validation: Align simulations with experimental data from semiconductor wafers.

  • Collaboration: Build a strong internal network and work across cooperate research, development and production.

  • Knowledge Transfer: Collaborate with research partners and vendors.

  • Personality: Self-driven, proactive, problem-solving mindset and comfortable owning topics independently.

  • Experience and Know-How: Background in semiconductor process simulation, ideally plasma and/or deposition. Knowledge of multi-scale modelling (atomistic + continuum); experience with analytical methods and/or machine learning. Experience in validating simulations with experimental data is required, experience in industry or with industrial partners is favorable; independent topic ownership is an advantage.

  • Enthusiasm: Interest in complex topics in an international environment.

  • Education: Degree (Master/PhD) in engineering, physics, chemistry, materials, computational science, or equivalent.

  • Languages: Excellent English; Finnish or German are a plus.

  • Local experience: You have professional experience in the Finnish semiconductor ecosystem.

Please submit your application for this role via our Bosch Finland Job Portal.

We offer:

An exciting job at an international company which is working at the forefront of technology. The chance to be part of a growing new location for MEMS technology development of one of the major global players in the MEMS business!
