Electrical SDE will be assigned specific Suppliers/Commodities and will be responsible for launching new parts, approving Supplier process changes within assigned Commodities and initiating/drive/track Supplier Development and Continual Improvement activities. To support plant SQE in resolution of electrical component related supplier quality issues.
EDUCATION
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year College or University is required.
· Minimum of 5 years working experience in Automotive Industries.
· Minimum 5 years of Supplier Development/Supplier quality management experience required.
· Knowledge in electrical manufacturing processes, eg, Passive electrical components, PCB, PCB Assembly, Electrical assemblies, Harnesses, Connectors, etc.
· Problem solving (8-D, 5 Whys Methodology) is Required
· Knowledge of IATF16949 requirements including APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Control plan is Required
· Knowledge of VDA 6.3
· Knowledge of SPC
Supplier APQP
· Assist in identifying “high impact” Suppliers and drive improvement activities.
· Conduct Supplier Management Quality Performance Review
· Visit new/resourced and/or “high impact” Suppliers to ensure APQP progress/process integrity
· Serve as a roadblock remover to ensure APQP target dates are successfully met
· Proactively work with Suppliers to minimize and/or eliminate Launch issues
· Report Supplier APQP progress/problems to Program Launch Team
· Lead APQP and Quality Performance Improvement Activities at suppliers.
· To support plant SQE timely and effective problem solving related to supplier quality issues.
· Lead Supplier problem solving for Quality Alert issues affecting multiple BW plants.
· Lead and conduct Supplier Process audit.
· Work closely with Suppliers to improve Supplier Quality performance for purchased parts
· Review and make disposition on Supplier Change Request submissions
· Review and make disposition on Supplier PPAP submissions
· Assure PPAP submission on time and meets Launch timing objectives
· Update/communicate PPAP timing to Launch Team members
· Responsible for ensuring all PPAP requirements are met and documentation is up to date and on file for components within assigned commodities
Supplier Quality Training
· Conduct Supplier Quality training, workshop to meet OEM and/or Customer’s specific Quality expectations/requirements
· Support to training the plant SQEs on the commodity knowledges.
COMMUNICATION/COMPUTER SKILLS
· Ability to facilitate communication between program teams and suppliers.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and technical guidance
· Effective at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid root cause and conclusions.
· Proficient at developing trip reports, general business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from Management and/or Customers.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
