Senior Global Supply Chain Manager, Packaging

As a Global Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for interfacing with internal Engineering and Product teams and external suppliers to develop components meeting cost goals. You will design, develop, source and deliver components at a consumer electronics scale, ensuring Google has the suppliers and equipment to put innovative products into production. You will use your industry knowledge and strategic relationships to optimize total cost of ownership for our growing consumer hardware product area. You will serve as the primary contact for internal teams and external suppliers for sourcing and procurement, building consensus with stakeholders for negotiations and supplier management. Additionally, you will lead the development and implementation of commodity strategies to provide Google’s Devices and Services Product Group (DSPG) with optimal pricing, flexibility, quality, and supply assurance. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Industrial Design, Quality, and Operations teams, you will be the commercial owner, focused on agreements, pricing, supply and maintaining long-term strategic supplier relationships.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in commodity management, sourcing or supply chain management across categories such as packaging, electromechanical, enclosures.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA.
  • 10 years of experience in cost-engaging technologies, processes, and products to guide and influence product development, including creating or optimizing cost models for evaluating modules, components, and new processes.
  • Experience in packaging, printed materials, and kitting operations or related fields.
  • Experience in collaborating with international supply base partners, with excellent communication, people management, and sourcing skills.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 25% of the time as needed.
