KEY OUTCOMES:
Inventory Management & Merchandising
- Coordinates the movement or vehicles in and out of the port, maintains communications with port personnel, inspects incoming vehicles for accuracy and damage, and coordinates vehicle transfers between locations to ensure efficient vehicle processing, inventory flow, and tracking.
- Establishes and implements policies and processes to support inventory accuracy, accountability, and operational efficiency.
- Ensures the lot and vehicles are well maintained and vehicles are attractively displayed.
- Prepares, submits and/or maintains accurate management reports and documents (e.g. vehicles sold, ordered, and on the lot), maintains complete and accurate records and documents, and exercises sound judgment when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
- Partners with Service department to ensure that vehicles on lot that have safety recalls, service bulletins, etc., are repaired and ready for sale in timely manner.
- On vehicles with paint/body discrepancies, coordinates repairs with vendors to ensure timely repairs and inspects the quality of work done.
Customer Delivery & Satisfaction
- Coordinates customer vehicle deliveries and ensures all vehicles are ready for deliveries as scheduled, and cars delivered meets or exceeds customers’ satisfaction (detailed, washed, inspected). Makes improvements as needed.
- Develops and administers processes to ensure customer vehicles are ready for deliveries as scheduled.
- Works with management in developing and implementing corrective action plans to address and improve CSI and ES scores.
- Monitors deliveries to ensures customers are provided with an exceptional experience and that customer issues and concerns are effectively handled at the first point(s) of contact.
Compliance & Administrative
- Communicates goals and performance expectations to team members and provides the resources and support needed.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and development to team members to support employee productivity, quality of work, and achievement of departmental goals. Ensures development plans are in place and follows up on progress and performance.
- Ensures employees understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws affecting dealership operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum three years inventory management work experience including supervisory responsibilities, vehicle inventory management and vehicle merchandising experience.
- Auto sales experience preferred
Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and dealership management system
- DealerTrack knowledge preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Good driving record
- Ability to operate standard and automatic transmission for a variety of vehicles
