Global Supply Manager

Specs Inc. also provides Lens Studio, a full suite of advanced developer tools that powers immersive augmented reality experiences across Specs, Snapchat, and other services.

The Mechanical/Electromechanical Global Supply Manager (GSM) will support Specs’ product lines for Mechanicals like plastics, metals, silicon rubber components and sub-assembly parts, electro mechanicals like battery and speakers. At Snap as a GSM you will get to own the commercial relationships with your partners as well as influence commodity strategy and direction with internal stakeholders like product and industrial design. GSM's at Snap are responsible for commodity strategy, supplier selection, cost negotiations, continuity of supply, risk mitigation, as well as supporting overall project needs and timelines. 

Mechanical components are critical to the industrial design as well as function of Snap’s products and GSMs work closely with operations, supplier quality, as well as Snap’s product and industrial design teams. Come help us build out a supply chain for these commodity verticals that can support Snap’s next phase of growth. 

We’re looking for a Mechanical/Electromechanical Global Supply Manager (GSM) to join the Specs team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute strategies for hardware and maintain strategic supplier’s relationships, identify/implement cost saving opportunities, ensure the supply base and industry leading quality. 

  • Act as the key interface between internal Engineering, Operations , Material and other cross functional teams and external commodity suppliers, contractor manufacturers to ensure procurement initiatives and support business objectives. 

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify opportunities and risks related to product design and business plans. 

  • Ensure supply assurance, driving necessary and timely action for potential supply issues, strong alignment with material manager for accurate CTB.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering or technical degree

  • Great English communication skills

  • Sourcing managements, min 4 years of experience

  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Flexibility to adapt to dynamic and at times ambiguous environments.

  • 5-10 years of experience in supply chain development, sourcing management, or manufacturing operations.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in multilingual as well as multicultural environments with partners.

  • Previous experience in the following areas is preferred; Plastic and silicon injection molding, Metal stamping and CNC, Metal injection molding, Batteries, Speakers, optical components.

  • Periodical travel to supplier’s domestic and international manufacturing sites, approximately 25%. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical / electrical / Optical/ industrial  or similar engineering

  • 5 Years of sourcing experience in Tech company : Apple, Amazon, DJI, Google, etc and/or worked at top tier suppliers: Foxconn, LY Tech, ICT-Luxshare, Lens

  • Ability to work and influence across teams and manage timelines. 

  • Being able to balance strategic and tactical responsibilities.

  • Passion for Problem solving and driving resolution.
