Job Description
The Sr. Sourcing Manager is responsible for supporting and enabling global and regional category leaders by developing sourcing and negotiation strategies to deliver sustainable results across various technology categories, such as software and hardware. This role identifies new opportunities for value and process improvement, manages complex cross-functional teams in sourcing initiatives, and ensures the achievement of defined category performance targets. The Sr. Sourcing Manager translates business goals into sourcing policies and supplier relationships, drives cross-functional negotiation teams, and maintains strong external relationships to leverage industry insights and best practices.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies to deliver sustainable results across technology categories.
- Support global category teams with requirements development, formal evaluation processes, and benchmarking to determine world-class levels.
- Manage complex, cross-functional teams in sourcing initiatives, applying milestone checks and steering team concepts.
- Translate business goals into sourcing policies, plans, and supplier relationships, and drive cross-functional negotiation teams.
- Lead or participate in supplier selection and contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and cost savings.
- Maintain external focus by leveraging industry peers and building strong relationships outside the organization.
- Drive completion of simultaneous projects by considering new alternatives and optimizing results.
- Measure supplier performance to ensure expectations are met and contribute to the achievement of category performance targets.
This position is a hybrid position to be based in our Austin, TX office location. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in leading the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies specific to technology categories.
- Experience in cost model analysis and performance metrics.
- Experience in using analytical and problem-solving tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in developing business cases for change using business acumen, market intelligence, and insights.
- Experience in contract and agreement negotiation, including development of negotiating plans and strategies.
- Experience in stakeholder relationship management and effective communication with senior management.
- Experience in synthesizing information and making clear, concise recommendations.
- Experience in purchasing systems and organizational interfaces (including Ariba, Coupa, DocuSign, and Oracle).
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, including the ability to present information, respond to questions, and write reports and business correspondence.
- In-depth understanding of the technology marketplace, including industry relationships with suppliers and VARs.
- Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience for technology categories.
- Experience in strategic sourcing using a formal 7-step sourcing process.
- Experience supporting the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies specific to indirect categories.
- Experience working in a global and matrix organization.

The estimated salary range for this position is $134,800.00 to $ 216,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Travel Requirements
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
