As a Machine Shop Technician, you will be working within the Asset Management Newcastle FPS team. Manufacturing parts internally using CNC Lathes and Milling machines, as well as manual Lathes and Milling Machines for production of flexible pipe, supporting the factory and pipe completion
As a Machine Shop Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Reading and checking Engineering Drawings
- Following written SOI, COI’s along with verbal instructions with the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with engineers and management
- Liaising with internal production supervision
- Managing to reverse Engineer supplied parts (for rework/replacement purposes)
- Using a range of Machining equipment and power tools
- Manual & CNC Lathes and Milling Machines
- Surface Grinding/Bench Fitting - Demonstrating and collaborating with creative ideas for more effective working practices
- Taking an active lead on incorporating safety improvements, lean improvements, and Kaizen improvement
- Taking a lead on HSE, always following the Baker Hughes safety culture

To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a Time served Machine Shop Technician/Tool Maker with proven experience
- Have proven experience in the oil and gas or energy sector
- Be PC literate and able to learn new technology and software quickly
- Have a safety focused attitude
- Be able to operate overhead cranes (training will be provided)
