PRIMARY PURPUSE OF THE POSITION
Work in a variety of skill areas, in production and packaging, to produce product for the company. Follow all company Safety Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Produce high quality products in a safe manner.
- Must be available to work any rotating shift, any work schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed and maintain a good attendance record.
- Production Technician must be able to flow to work in all skill areas of production and packaging.
- Production Technician must be able to operate a computer to input and review data for the purpose of maintaining accurate records.
- Production Technician must work as part of a team and assist others as needed.
- Production Technician must be able to meet all the physical demands of the role and any additional duties/task required in a safe manner.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary functions of this role are to:
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude is required.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) work environment.
- Must have computer skills for data entry, records and time keeping, accessing online training resources, information retrieval, computer-based training completion, and using electronic communications such as email.
- Follows all company Safety Practices and personal safety requirements, including using and/or wearing required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Perform the necessary physical movements for the purposes of operating, maintaining, and cleaning high-speed making, packing, shipping, and other production related equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of machinery and process issues, which would include repairs and maintenance activities.
- Must have experience using basic hand and power tools (i.e., wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills, grinders, fasteners, etc.).
- Must be able to analyze information using basic skills in math and statistical and historical data.
- Operate essential material handling equipment at the site (i.e., Forklift, Hand Trucks, Clamp Trucks, etc.).
- Capable of supporting and performing changeover processes on equipment and systems.
- Capable of entering Confined Spaces, including tanks and other specialty skill areas
- The ability to discern the various visual and audible alarms and signals for equipment, start-up, evacuations, fires, etc.
- Produce high quality products and follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
- Ability to Demonstrate Technical Skills through Problem Solving (Analytical Troubleshooting, Critical Thinking, Root Cause Analysis).
- Ability to Demonstrate Leadership Skills through owning and driving NOLA Plant results.
- Must be able to maintain good attendance record.
- Ability to work as part of a Team and assist fellow employees in order to meet the Team's goals.
- Ability to apply reasonable understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Required Education
- High-school degree or Equivalent
Required Experience & Abilities
- Either Two (2) years of technical or manufacturing work experience
OR
- Technical education/training certification/degree (mechanical, shop, electrical, computer, CAD design, etc.) or completed a four year college degree
AND
- Minimum age of 18
- Willingness to complete each stage of the selection process
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and duties of this job.
- The employee must be able to work 8-hour and/or 12-hour, rotating shifts.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and lift.
- The employee is required to stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time.
- The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequent basis.
- The employee must be able to lift 30-35 pounds on a frequent basis.
- The employees must occasionally lift/push/pull or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
