Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Technician to join our growing team developing advanced airborne vision and detection systems for both manned and unmanned aircraft platforms. Our systems integrate high-performance imaging sensors, onboard processing, and intelligent detection capabilities into ruggedised camera pods deployed across fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys precision assembly work, thrives in a structured quality environment, and takes pride in building high-value, low-volume systems to an exceptional standard.
You will work closely with engineers and production staff across the full lifecycle of the build process — from incoming goods and inventory management through to assembly, documentation, integration, and testing. The role also offers involvement in R&D and prototype development activities supporting next-generation aerospace systems.
We are looking for an experienced technician who is comfortable working in a disciplined engineering environment while remaining adaptable and solutions-focused.
What you'll do:
Assemble and integrate aerospace-grade camera pod systems and associated electronic assemblies
Work closely with engineers to support prototype and production builds
Perform basic component and subsystem testing
Manage incoming goods inspection and inventory activities
Maintain accurate build records, traceability, and manufacturing documentation
Follow established quality processes and procedures in line with ISO9001 / AS9100 standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and documentation workflows
Assist with troubleshooting and rework activities when required
Ensure high standards of workmanship, quality, and attention to detail are maintained at all times
Required qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a technician, assembly, or manufacturing role
Experience working within ISO9001, AS9100, or similarly rigorous quality systems
Strong electronics assembly and integration experience
Experience with high-value, low-volume production environments
Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
Strong organisational skills with experience handling inventory or incoming goods processes
Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and procedures
Permanent Residency or Citizenship in Australia
Preferred qualifications:
Aerospace or defence industry experience
Experience supporting R&D or prototype development activities
Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, optical systems, or airborne payloads
What we offer:
The opportunity to work on advanced airborne sensing and vision technologies
Interesting and meaningful projects with real-world operational impact
A supportive, collaborative, and highly skilled team environment
Strong focus on staff retention, professional development, and long-term career growth
Access to the resources and stability of a larger global organisation while working within a focused and agile local team
Competitive salary and employee benefits
If you enjoy building cutting-edge systems, working alongside talented engineers, and contributing to innovative aerospace technology programs, we would love to hear from you.
