Key Responsibilities:

  • Transporting Goods: Safely driving goods from one location to another, which includes loading and unloading items, ensuring that they are securely packed to prevent damage during transit.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly checking the vehicle for maintenance needs and safety issues, scheduling repairs and routine maintenance, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good working condition.
  • Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Ensuring compliance with traffic and transportation laws, as well as any specific regulations related to the handling and transportation of specific types of goods, like perishables or hazardous materials.
  • Communication: Maintaining clear communication with the purchasing and warehouse departments to confirm delivery schedules, notify of any delays, and resolve any discrepancies in shipment contents or delivery locations.
  • Security: Ensuring the security of the vehicle and its contents, monitoring loading and unloading processes, and protecting the stock from theft or damage.

  • Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Valid UK driver’s license.
  • Availability to work flexible, rotating rosters.
  • Confident map reading and navigation skills.
