Under broad direction of the Operations Manager, he/she performs lead dispatching functions for our Brussels operations team. World Courier offers an exciting and dynamic work environment with plenty of room as well as an intersting salary package. Initial training is also foreseen.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the daily running of the Dispatch and drivers department, to ensure that personnel are working to their full potential, that work is evenly distributed among staff and to ensure the equipment is being utilized correctly
To ensure that customers are receiving the highest level of Customer Service from our vendors
Observe and evaluate workers & vendors performance and to offer assistance where required in the Dispatch and driver department
Ensure that Staff & Vendors are up to date on all aspects of their role and are fully trained in their disciplines. All new guidelines and technologies are to be immediately implemented
Keep staff & vendors regularly informed of any new operational issues which may impact on their duties
Identifying, sourcing and onboarding of new vendors
Assessment of current vendors, reviewing performance levels, new lane assessment and negotiating costs down where possible
Assist in contingency planning and identify future issues, e.g. storms, pandemic planning
To identify areas in the Dispatch department where change may be required and implement the change if appropriate
Conduct regular meetings to discuss the running of the Dispatch and Driver department
To plan, prepare and devise shifts schedules & ensure the department is always adequately covered
Ensure all regulatory requirements (including but not limited to ADR, Air Cargo security, GDP, AEO) are strictly adhered to throughout the operation
Have regular contact with Management to discuss customer complaints and any issues. Suggest change where necessary
Assist in Recruitment and training of new personnel
Conduct and document monthly/annual performance reviews with all staff
Ensure all staff are up to date with current guidelines and all SOP's are completed within set time parameters
Ensure CAPA's and event note levels stay at a minimum
Ensure CAPA's are investigated, managed, implemented and responded to in agreed timelines
Prepare reports as requested by Operations Manager and leadership team
Be first point of contact for out of hours incidents to ensure the smooth running of the operation
Tight control and review on Dispatch & Driver related KPI’s
Vendor management and reviewing invoices based on Vendor Service Agreements

Requirements and Ability:
Minimum of 5 years of Operational experience
Minimum 3 years Dispatch and Warehouse experience and/or formal qualification
Minimum 3 years of Experience in temperature control management
Must have experience and knowledge of Live Animals Handling
Must have strong experience and knowledge of handling ADR, Air Cargo Security, GDP, AEO
Must have strong experience and knowledge of Dispatch, Warehousing / Operational tasks
Must have experience managing relationships with key vendors
Must be available to provide an on-call service out of hours in case of emergencies
Must be flexible with working hours, shift rotation is a requirement.
Work independently and be flexible (work in shifts 06.00 - 19.00)
