Job Description
The Senior Manager – Migration Practice is a key member of Visa’s regional migration consulting capability. You will work closely with the Migration Practice Director and cross-functional Visa teams to design and deliver complex credit card migrations that are network-sound, customer-safe and compliant.
You will typically lead workstreams or small-to-medium engagements, contribute to enhancing Visa’s migration playbooks and tools, and act as a trusted advisor to client project teams. You will translate technical and operational considerations into clear business implications and support C-level and functional stakeholders through critical migration decisions.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
Proposition Development & Practice Support
Contribute to the evolution of Visa’s credit card migration consulting proposition in Asia Pacific (e.g., refining use cases, differentiators, client archetypes), under the guidance of the Migration Practice Director.
Help maintain and enhance standard migration playbooks and toolkits, including:
Portfolio diagnostics and data-driven migration readiness assessments
Migration wave and cutover design templates
Customer impact, risk and contingency assessment tools
Support the development of thought leadership and internal training materials (case studies, best practices, brown-bag sessions) to scale migration expertise across markets.
Business Development & Deal Support
Work with the Migration Practice Director and Geo teams to identify and qualify migration opportunities, including platform changes, network shifts and large product/portfolio migrations.
Support the design and delivery of co-creation sessions and solution workshops with clients (e.g., current-state reviews, migration option assessment, risk/impact trade-offs).
Contribute to proposals, RFP responses and commercial constructs, including scope definition, phasing, staffing recommendations and indicative timelines.
Prepare and present migration materials to senior client stakeholders (typically up to functional head level; selectively at C-level with Director support).
Solution Design & Delivery
Lead defined workstreams within larger migration programs or own end-to-end delivery for smaller engagements, for example:
Segmentation and migration cohort strategy
Customer communication and experience design (pre-, during, post-migration)
Product mapping and benefit rationalization
Operational readiness and servicing impact assessment
Translate network and issuer platform constraints into pragmatic migration strategies, in partnership with VCA Migration Tech, Product and client IT/Operations teams.
Act as a first-line escalation and problem-solving point for issues within your workstreams, bringing in the Migration Practice Director or other experts as needed.
Project Resourcing & Third-Party Coordination
Support the Director in designing resourcing models that combine Visa consultants with third-party resources (consultancies, contractors) for large migrations.
Coordinate day-to-day activities with third-party partners on your workstreams (clarifying roles, deliverables and quality standards).
Contribute to SOW preparation, onboarding and performance tracking for external partners, ensuring their outputs are aligned with Visa’s methodology and client expectations.
Governance, Risk Management & Measurement
Define and track workstream-level KPIs and success metrics in line with overall migration objectives, such as Activation and usage metrics post-migration, Authorization approval/decline behaviour in the new setup, Incident and complaint rates, NPS and servicing performance
Ensure workstream deliverables and recommendations comply with Visa network rules, relevant regulations and client risk frameworks, escalating issues where required.
People, Collaboration & Capability Building
Lead virtual project teams or analyst/consultant resources on your workstreams, providing day-to-day guidance, feedback and coaching.
Champion a collaborative, inclusive culture across markets and time zones; role-model structured, calm problem-solving under pressure.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree in any field
Delivered large-scale migration programs in card issuing and issuer processing environments, including platform transitions, portfolio migrations, and system integrations
Demonstrated experience leading or playing a core role in card or payment platform migrations, portfolio conversions, or similar large change programs
Practical knowledge of issuer processing platforms and card management systems, and how their features/constraints influence migration strategy
Strong analytical and structured thinking skills, with the ability to develop data-driven recommendations and business cases
Ability to interact with and influence stakeholders across multiple levels
Experience leading small teams or workstreams in a matrix or project environment
Experience in Asia Pacific markets and understanding of local regulatory and payments landscapes.
Exposure to digital enablement (e.g., wallets, tokenisation, real-time decisioning) in the context of card portfolios.
