SQL Analyst (Contract)
We are seeking a seasoned SQL Developer / Analyst to join our team and take a leading role in implementing robust data solutions for our clients. The SQL Developer / Analyst, will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL, pipelines, databases, and related applications within the accounting domain. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders, and team members to analyze requirements, suggest process methodologies, and deliver scalable and high-performing data solutions.
This is a contract role through end of year with potential for extension
Must work EST hours. Candidates in EST preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and design comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes
- Work cross functionally with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and various business owners on policies, processes, and programs, and help drive key system initiatives and improvements
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data extraction, transformation, loading, and reporting
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and provide data engineering support for analytics initiatives
- Ensure data quality and implement data validation and cleansing techniques
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and availability
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in data analysis and recommend enhancements to existing systems and processes
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and process documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus
- MUST have in-depth knowledge of SQL and experience writing complex queries
- MUST have experience in the Finance/Accounting domain and/or regulated industries
- Experience in development: Data modeling and analysis based on business requirements
- Strong customer facing presentation, problem-solving and analytical skills is required
- Proficiency in Snowflake development tools and architecturea plus
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling isa plus
- Excellent communication with ability to collaborate cross functionally
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced & ambiguous environments
The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $$65-$80 per hour. Final pay rate will be determined based on experience, qualifications and geographic location
