Role Title: Tester (Frontend) - Insurance 

The Frontend Tester (Life Insurance) is responsible for validating the functionality, usability, and performance of customer-facing and internal digital platforms. This role ensures that web and mobile applications; including customer portals, agent portals, and claims submission systems; deliver a seamless, accurate, and compliant user experience aligned with life insurance business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. UI / Frontend Functional Testing

  • Design, execute, and maintain test cases to validate user interface functionality across web and mobile applications.
  • Validate key user journeys including:
    • Policy purchase and onboarding
    • Premium payment processing
    • Claims submission and tracking
    • Policy servicing (updates, withdrawals, endorsements, etc.)
  • Ensure alignment with business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.

2. Usability & UX Testing

  • Evaluate overall user experience, navigation flow, and accessibility compliance.
  • Identify UI/UX gaps impacting customer and agent journeys.
  • Validate consistency with approved design standards and branding guidelines.

3. Cross-Browser & Cross-Device Testing

  • Conduct testing across multiple browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge) and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
  • Ensure responsive design compatibility and consistent performance across platforms.

4. Frontend–Backend Integration Testing

  • Validate integration between frontend applications and backend services/APIs.
  • Use browser developer tools to inspect network calls, payloads, responses, and console logs.
  • Ensure accurate display and handling of backend data within the UI.

5. Test Planning & Execution

  • Develop and maintain test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
  • Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.

6. Defect Management

  • Identify, log, and track UI/UX defects using defect management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Provide detailed reproduction steps, screenshots, and severity assessment.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to validate defect resolution.

Key Requirements:

Experience

  • 2–6+ years of experience in frontend/UI testing or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience within life insurance or financial services is an advantage.
  • Exposure to digital platforms (web and mobile applications).

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of:
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • JavaScript
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles.
  • Hands-on experience using Browser Developer Tools (network monitoring, console debugging, API inspection).

Testing Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Test case design techniques
    • SDLC and Agile methodologies
    • Regression and exploratory testing practices

Domain Knowledge & Tools

  • Familiarity with life insurance processes, including:
    • Customer onboarding / eKYC
    • Policy servicing
    • Claims submission and processing
  • Awareness of data privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira and TestRail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ISTQB certification.
  • Experience in mobile application testing (iOS/Android).
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
