Why we're hiring:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Deputy Director, Enterprise Risk and Resilience Management to join WPP’s Global Risk & Resilience (R&R) function. This high-impact role offers significant global exposure, reporting directly to WPP’s Group Director of Risk & Resilience in our London HQ.
You will be instrumental in shaping and implementing WPP’s enterprise risk and resilience framework, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to unify our approach. By embedding best practices and fostering risk awareness, you'll empower WPP to navigate change, build strong resilience, and adapt effectively in our evolving global environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead/Support the development & implementation of a unified enterprise risk & resilience framework.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritise organisational risks.
- Support development of a risk conscious culture and guide development of risk appetite.
- Develop risk reporting tools and dashboards.
- Lead risk assessments, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Champion risk & resilience culture through thought leadership, training, and awareness.
- Ensure programs meet international standards (ISO 31000, 22301) and regulatory requirements.
- Build cross-functional relationships (IT, HR, Facilities) to drive collaboration.
- Advise stakeholders on risk mitigation & resilience strategies.
- Facilitate testing & training to enhance organisational preparedness.
- Oversee risk/resilience metrics for continuous program improvement.
- Foster innovation in risk & resilience processes and tools.
- Support crisis leadership during operational disruptions.
What you'll need:
- Experience in enterprise risk. Ideally with business continuity or resilience management too, in a large, multinational organisation.
- Strategic mindset to align risk/resilience with organisational goals.
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks, resilience principles, and standards (e.g., ISO 31000, 22301).
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to translate complex information into insights.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in dynamic environments.
- Certifications (e.g., IRM, BCI, ACCA, CIMA) desirable, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Familiarity with creative, technology, or professional services sectors a plus.
