The role we are looking for will be immersed into the research and science as well as conduct appropriate surgeries on animal models designed to demonstrate safety, efficacy and clinical benefit of these products, as well as ensure the health and clinical monitoring of the animals.
What you will do:
1) Be a surgeon:
Collaborate with NAMSA Experts (local or international) and Clients in the definition of surgical designs in a regulatory context (compliance with the expectations of regulatory agencies such as the FDA)
Supervise and perform experimental surgeries (on small and large animals): in situ implantation of medical devices for the evaluation of their safety and performance with a surgical technicians team support.
Ensure the writing of surgical reports
Ensure the coordination of non-GLP projects (feasibility study, operating theater rental, etc.)
Develop your own skills as well as those of the company in the field of cardiovascular and/ or peripheral vascular, spine, orthopedic, dental, wound healing, neuromodulation, tissue regeneration, etc.
Manage external surgical consultants (as required by the project)
Support NAMSA Experts or Client regarding authorities queries
Collaborate with NAMSA Experts to improve efficiency of in vivo models over time
Collaborate with NAMSA management to support the expansion of the preclinical services (meet prospective customers, attend and present at Medtech Industry conferences…).
Inspire and research for developments of new experimental models, new designs, especially when breakthrough innovations are being tested
Leverage your surgical expertise and medicine knowledge in order to troubleshoot any kind of technical, medical and surgical challenge for the continue evolution of our portfolio of solutions to our clients in a spirit of continuous improvement
Train in vivo personnel in anesthesia, veterinary medicine and surgery
Support the veterinarians team to set-up and follow-up the pre and post-operative medical care and animals welfare
2) Advocate for Quality:
In charge of anesthesia, surgery and peripheral measures in the operating room in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Write and improve procedures related to your field of expertise
Prepare and participate in audits and inspections for the veterinary part
Who you are:
Qualified veterinarian with a specialization in surgery.
Autonomous, adaptable and organized
Ability to work in a team
Your listening and communication skills will enable you to interact with our clients to advise them on the design of their studies
Leadership, customer orientation, method, rigor and the ability to make proposals are all assets that will help you to flourish in this position and in our company
Fluent English
